  • Online Tool
  • Community Resource
Parents of adult children

This directory lists doctors that prescribe Suboxone (also known as buprenorphine and naloxone), an FDA-approved medication for the treatment of Opioid Dependence. Opioid dependence is the physical addiction to such substances – a complex health condition that requires professional, medical care to treat. There are multiple treatment options, including medicated assisted treatment (MAT) in addition to behavioral counseling approaches. This resource provides a list of physicians who are qualified per the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 (DATA 2000) to treat opioid dependence with FDA-approved medications and who have agreed to be in this Physician Locator (Locator), sponsored by Suboxone manufacturer Indivior.

Tip

The maximum number of patients that a physician may treat for opioid dependence is limited by law; therefore, some physicians may not always be able to accept new patients. Don’t be discouraged.  You can also contact your insurance provider to request a referral to a physician who is currently accepting new patients for treatment with suboxone.
