The ASCENT program is a smoking cessation intervention designed specifically for young adolescent tobacco users. It seeks to increase motivation for change by having adolescents identify their personal reasons for quitting and provides resources aimed to improve the adolescent’s chances of success.
If you’re a parent, talk to your health care provider, or your adolescent’s school counselor, teacher or nurse to see if they utilize ASCENT or know someone who does.
How to Use
Educators, community personnel, and health providers should use the facilitator guide to learn how to address tobacco dependence among adolescents in a variety of settings.
